Come Visit Us — Thailand and ASEAN Information Center (TAIC), Chula Library is Ready to Serve You with a Fresh Bookshelf
We’re excited to welcome you back with a refreshed and reorganized space. The TAIC Team has relocated some of our bookshelves and rearranged the reading area to better serve you. We’ve brought one of our essential collections, the ‘Cold War Collection,’ closer to you.
Looking out the large window, you can see where we house the Cold War Collection along with various documents about Thailand, with a particular focus on the behavioral and social sciences and related disciplines.
These documents, dating back to the 1960s, are the very foundation of the Thailand and ASEAN Information Center (TAIC). On March 26, 1972, Chulalongkorn University acquired the right to manage this collection after the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) of the United States Department of Defense ceased its operations.
This invaluable collection offers a unique glimpse into various aspects of Thailand during the Cold War period. It includes research results, reports, monographs, surveys, articles, maps, theses, dissertations, and more, covering Thailand and neighboring Southeast Asian countries.
Let’s enjoy reading with a historical perspective! Visit us on the 6th floor of Chula Central Library, or connect with us online at
